Jason Svarc founded Transfer Solar in 2011, following the design and construction of his off-grid solar-powered home in Kinglake, Victoria. Having a mechanical/electrical engineering background provided a solid foundation in electrical knowledge, enabling him to hone his skills in emerging solar and battery technologies.

Jason gained a qualification in renewable energy from Swinburne University Tafe, and went on to teach the solar Stand-Alone Power Systems (off-grid) short course for two years before focusing on contracting and designing solar / energy storage solutions for various electrical companies and solar businesses. Over the last decade, he has evolved the business and become one of the most experienced designers and installers of off-grid power systems in Victoria.

Jason is also the lead technical writer at Clean Energy Reviews. One of the few independent solar review websites publishing detailed articles and reviews of the many solar products and battery systems available on the market.
